Level 3 Diploma in Holistic Massage
A six month training leading to a BCMA accredited Holistic Massage Therapist qualification.
​
Together we will learn the theory and practical applications of a living & breathing style of massage via the three core principles of Presence, Passion, and Play, enabling a strong foundation as a bodyworker whilst having fun along the way.

PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE:
​
Hands-on practice of therapeutic massage techniques including light & deep tissue manipulations, joint mobilisations, stretches, and neuromuscular work.
Creative ways to expand the range of therapeutic touch possibilities.
​
Time to explore, learn, make mistakes and become more adept bodyworkers.
​
Method applications for healthy posture and good personal body use while giving massage.
​
Understanding of the effects & contraindications of massage on the body through a vibrant and insightful Anatomy & Physiology program.
​
Support to delve into areas of interest, gain knowledge & skill, and hone enthusiasm into professional grade specialism.
​
Centering tools, opening up capacity to listen out for - and hear - subtle somatic signals.
​
Extended awareness of how to include the mental, emotional & spiritual aspects of human beingness, alongside physical bodywork.
​
Study themes covering the history and ethics of massage, good client care, and the responsibilities and requirements of setting up in professional practice.
​
Close supervision and support with a maximum class size of eight participants.
​
And of course... ample opportunities to receive holistic massage from increasingly skilled classmates!
COURSE OUTLINE:
​
6 x One full weekend per month of practical classroom time.
10 x 3hr evening classes of interactive, live tutored, on-line anatomy and physiology.
1 x Day per week of home study time to include:
- Research and assignments
- Massage journal write-ups
- Giving massage to case study clients
- Receiving treatments
- Exam revision
1 x 60 minute practical assessment.
1 x 90 minute theory assessment.

Includes all massage weekends, anatomy and physiology classes, and exam fees.
Practical and theory exams held in July, followed by BCMA certifications and a graduation ceremony to celebrate your work and achievements.

Mirach Duncan your massage tutor, loves bodies.
She loves how they feel, move, think, dance, and even how they express pain and difficulty.
Her work is dedicated to understanding and enabling them towards vibrant and healthy self-expression.
She's had her hands on bodies (therapeutically!) for over a decade and works from Dartington Estate.

Karen Yarnell, your anatomy and physiology tutor, has been a massage practitioner since 1997. As well as working as a therapist, teacher of anatomy, physiology & pathology, and massage courses, Karen is also an examiner for the Massage Training Institute and an assessor and internal verifier for City & Guilds and Vocational Training Charitable Trust.
